Day 29/30

We’ve been getting in the car and just driving. We take off and meander out through the country for hours. We listen to bible teaching tapes. We could listen at home, but it’s liberating to be outside, in the sunlight; on the move.

Sis and I have negotiated a “middle ground” with the diet. Sis loves to stop at places like Shakey’s, Sonic, or Wendy’s for ice cream. We’ve agreed that it’s okay as long as it doesn’t happen all the time, and as long as she doesn’t sneak around to do it, so we ended up at Shakey’s.

We first discovered Shakey’s on one of our many fall football excursions. It’s getting to be that time of year where we start thinking about “calling the hogs”. We’ve gotta make some hotel reservations, and figure out a few side trips. Tailgating will be a real adventure. We’ll be the only ones there gnawing on raw vegetables ... and eating Shakey’s ice cream. Woooooooo ... pig! (don’t eat that)

We’ve always been on the move ... still are.

Day 30

I know I’ve said it before, but every day is a challenge to take back our life. I’ve never been involved with anything so relentless. Things can be going along fine one minute, and the next you’re bombarded with every unsettling, negative mental image concievable.Without a conscious decision to expel those demonic imaginings, “fiery darts” the bible calls them, the darkness can creep in.

That’s where the fight is and we refuse to give in. (Eph.6:10-17, James 4:7)

God wants us well (III John 2).

God never changes (James 1:17).

Healing is ours (Isaiah 53: 4-5).

Stand with us (Matt 18:19).
