Update 12 (Sis)

Wednesday was clinic day again.

J and I packed up our computers, Bibles, water, and  relax wrap ( the relax wrap is a U shaped piece of material with rice inside you heat up in the microwave.  It actually stays warm for about 20 minutes). I've used it so much when we heat it up it has a distinct smell of burnt popcorn. They have microwaves all over Vanderbilt.  J will heat it while I am hooked up. It's a little chilly in the infusion room. A few months ago Vandy Security was swarming the floor. Something was on fire. It was a little embarrassing when they were led to my chair by the smell……..

This Wednesday Doc Johnson was under the weather and couldn't make the appointment. Dr. Means and Doc Rice took his place. I know them both. They are very caring Doctors. At Vanderbilt all the Doctors and Nurses really take an honest interest in how you are feeling. If you have a problem they will do anything to assist. They had my scan results.  Every six weeks I have a CT scan. This week it showed improvement in one area with all others stable. I took a minute to give God the glory for the good results. Dr. Means hugged me in tears. This family at Vanderbilt is the very best. I thank God for them everyday.

I have some new food habits.

I am eating as many oranges as I can get my hands on. Then I am chasing that with a caramel apple from the mall. Maybe a chocolate covered cherry or two…then a sweet gherkin. This is my afternoon snack. It's really good!

Last week I decided it was time to wear heels again.

I pulled my Brunos out of the closet and promptly fell off them. Why do we wear these shoes? My feet are finally soft, smooth, and un-calloused after 30 years.

Everyday I go to the mall and walk for an hour.

These days most malls have walking clubs. I see the same people just about every day. There's Bill and Mrs. Bill. He is always telling me not to eat salt. There are two nurses walking (and you better get out of the way). They are rockin’. Stan is a man I would sponsor in any race. He walks 5 miles a day. He is little but very compact and loves to pass me over and over…..Stan is getting on my nerves a bit. Then there is Thelma. Thelma is always on the phone and gets in the way of Stan (she doesn't pay attention). He gets annoyed and goes downstairs to walk. There is Dennis, who wants to know where I have been if I miss my normal time.  He likes to tell me how I look. He usually says,
“You're looking better today!”. He says this everyday. I must look fabulous by now…….

God continues to guide me.

I am thankful HE IS LOVE! Thank you for your continued prayers.

Jesus is Lord!
