Update 14—June 4(Sis)

I hope you are doing well!

We just returned this Sunday from a trip to see our families. J and I are originally from Arkansas (devoted Hawg fans). We arrived just as my Mother was going into surgery. She had a back problem. God is looking out for my Mother. This is her eleventh surgery and she always bounces back well.

I spent a lot of time with my Sister. That was terrific!  She did a lot of cooking and I love it because you know everything will be covered in cheese…..Marilyn is a great organizer. She takes control and makes things happen. Love her!

We also spent time with J’s family.

His Dad is a musician and taught J lots. Faye (J’s Mom) is a terrific dancer. His brother, Steve, is a computer guru. We also were able to see our nephew, Luke. Pat (J’s dad) and Faye gave Luke a car this year. He is growing so tall…..he probably won’t fit in it long. He is planning  to top out at 6’5”.

Speaking of cars. . .

J and I were thinking of buying a Honda S2000. You know…that sports car. I drove it and they zip around real fast (sometimes I need that quick reaction to get me out of ‘situations’). We found one in HS (Hot Springs) and discovered that J does not fit in it…..his head is a continuation of the windshield….not good. We’ll keep thinking….

There is a terrific restaurant in Hot Springs.

It’s called Café Santa Clara. I love the owners. It’s a Southwestern blend. Their plates and food rival Emeril. If you are in the area, give a call before you go. They only open up when they want to, which is usually Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, unless they decide to stay home.

Speaking of food. . .

I just bought a crock-pot. These things really are useful! Yesterday I cooked up a roast and all the things that go with it. It wasn’t very good. I think I might have not cooked it long enough and probably a little seasoning would have been good……I never give up …so today I am crocking Bar-B-Q Chicken. I’m going to cook it for 10 hours. I bet that will make it tender!

By the way …have you been to Sonic for their Jr. Banana Split? Excellent, I tell you. I am scheduling a daily visit.

Wednesday was clinic day. . .

That means I get to see my favorite Doctor and Nurses. J and I gave Doc Johnson an OCC T-shirt (His favorite show is “Orange County Choppers”).  When I see him he always examines me for a few minutes, tells me I am good to go. Then we talk about our favorite things to do and watch on TV. He and Norma (my Nurse) make this visit something I look forward to. They are both blessings I thank God for everyday.

Sandy
