Update 15—June 23(Sis)

LET’S CELEBRATE!!!

One year ago on June 21, I was told I had six weeks to live. As Lee Corso would say…”Not So Fast My Friend”….….Looks like I made it!

J and I have been celebrating for two days.

I had a scan yesterday (June 21) . . .

and received the results today (June 22). My favorite Doc in the world, Doc Johnson, sees significant improvement since January of this year.

God is walking with me everyday. I am so thankful. I feel his presence constantly. J and I are now attending Faith is the Victory Church. We loved The Ridge but the drive was an hour and a half one way with construction on I-40 being what it is. Faith is the Victory has been a blessing and is devoted to the Word.  Attendance is around 1,000. Last Sunday night the service was almost over…..  I am standing praying to remind God about our scan the next day…things got really quiet for a second….then the whole church started singing a song J had co-written.  I heard God plainly as “We Will Stand” rang out. I don’t think I’ve ever sang louder. II Chronicles 20:15-17. He is always in the battle with us!

I had to wait a few hours to post today.

We had to get that smoke out of here. How can you burn steamed vegetables?  These are favorites of  J. I intended to steam up squash, carrots, eggplant, and asparagus. Apparently the water evaporated a little quicker than I anticipated.  I asked J if he wanted to try this new recipe for steamed and smoked veggies. He just laughed and walked away…I’ve had that pan for 20 years……..gone now.

I haven’t used the crock-pot that much (It really overcooks the food you know) but the cheese dishes are still flowing.

I am still walking 2 miles a day.

There is this gentleman I’ve named "Stan". He is about 65 and walks like a streak of lightning……Well…he passed me! That really didn’t work for me (those of you who know me well are not surprised). I started going really fast….thinking he WILL NOT pass me again! J had to drop out of the race, but let me say this……Stan did not pass me again! I did have a hitch in my walk for a few days………

Love and prayers for you,

Sis
