Update 19—September 16 (Sis)

J and I have been on vacation for a few days.

We drove to Fayetteville to watch the Hogs take on Vandy. The drive from Conway to Fayetteville is a real pleasure. The mountains are beautiful, you can see for miles on the 540, no houses just land.

We had a GREAT time! Vandy played really well and came on strong in the fourth quarter, winning the game.  Good for them. They really needed this win. Our Hog team played pretty good, but not good enough. Often fans of the losing team will say their team was just having a bad day. This is a backhanded slam on the winner. Not the case this time. Vandy played better, especially in the fourth quarter.

The big payoff for me was going “up the hill” easily. The University of Arkansas is located in “the Ozarks”, and though we enjoy a close parking spot there’s still a bit of an uphill climb for us to get to our seats. Once I start the ascent I like to move it……People everywhere……I pass everyone I can. Any member of AARP beware (I can say this being a card-carrying member myself). I have this competitive nature….running (trotting) the mall stairs for the last 6 weeks really paid off!

We had to get back to Nashville.

I had a CT scan on Monday. The nurse that puts in the IV always uses the mega needle. I really like him but, “Why the BIG stick?” I ask. “In case you pass out”, he says……We have this conversation every six weeks. Ouch!

My scan was stable. I thank God every day.

Tuesday afternoon I returned to Vanderbilt for a Magnesium check and over-all blood look. My Mag needs to be 1.8. It was 1.7. Dori said, “I think we should call Norma. You are so close she may say we don’t need to infuse”. I assured her Norma wouldn’t accept that and my second stick for the day was on……..Just as Dori completed the stick and I was taking on Mag…Norma came running through the door…….”No need for infusion today! Sandy is so close”………next time I’m going to let Dori make that call……..

J cut my hair.

It looks pretty good. I am believing for a full head of hair. Right now I have a Mohawk in reverse (not much on top). I am still wearing a cap……I wonder if I take my hat off…could I start a new fad?

I continue to pray for everyone e-mailing a need.

John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Much Love,

Sandy
