| Update 2 (Sis) Ok …I’m back…..Please excuse as I am a little tardy in posting. I wasn’t sure about chemo as well as my experimental program and how my body would adjust. It has been a very interesting time. I have gone from taking one Benedryl at night to lots of pills. We have had a few mishaps, I fell in the bathtub. No big deal, just a black eye, a head bump, and my knee was bruised…..other than that I am good to go. Yesterday J and I met with Dr. Johnson (I am going to capitalize Dr. for him. The rest I have come in contact with really haven’t gained but a dr. respect). The doctors seem to have important cell phone calls to make and give you a few minutes no matter the importance of your situation (well maybe that’s the key…Your situation) Back to Dr. Johnson…He came into he room and said, “You have had measurable decrease in your cerebral tumors. They are still there, but much smaller. They have always felt that brain tumors can only be treated with radiation or surgery. There is what the doctors call a “blood/brain barrier” that they felt prevented chemo from getting in the brain effectively. They are not so sure now. Chemo may be aiding. The experimental drugs could be impacting also. As you can imagine any good news from this Doctor is much appreciated, although I am not waiting on these folks for good news when God is right here. Here is the part I find interesting and most satisfying. J and I were thanking God on the spot for this blessing and Doctor Johnson joined us. He said they help people every way they can, but they are limited, God is not. We next reported to chemo for the second cycle of treatment. I must say these nurses are incredible. They treat me like family. One of the Nurses and I got into a discussion about things worked by the will of God. I told her I understood she had probably attended a church that taught that you couldn’t know the will of God. In reality the will of God is everywhere in the Bible. |
