Update 3 (J)
It's been awhile since the last update. Let me say one thing, chemotherapy is not for wimps.
Sis is in the midst of her third course of chemo. She's been fighting through the side effects. She walks 2-3 hours a day in spite of the fatigue. She has to lie down and rest from time to time during the day, which is hard for her. She's used to going non-stop. Because of the dizziness she's taken a couple of tumbles; the latest one has given her some sore ribs from falling into the side of the tub.
We continue to thank God every day for her healing. We found this in Isaiah.
"Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you you to difficulties, yes I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice. Behold all they who are enraged (cancer) and inflamed (tumors) against you shall be AS NOTHING AND CONFOUNDED (this is he way the study drug Sis is taking is supposed to work, it cuts off the blood flow from the tumor and inhibits it's ability to form new blood flows; it "confounds " the tumors.); they shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you but shall not find them; they who war against you shall be as nothing, nothing at all." Isaiah 41:10-12 Amp.
The Exciting News
Two weeks ago we got the results of the first CAT scan since the study treatments started. We knew we were going to hear good news. We believe we always get good news from the doctors. Sis had noticed that her shoulder wasn't bothering her anymore and the cough that had been so persistant had vanished. Dr. Johnson showed us a comparison of the current scans vs. the original scans. They confirmed a 70% reduction in the primary tumor after just 2 treatments! Dr. Johnson said, "This is as good as it gets". He was pretty excited. I told him this was just a start!
I urge everyone to continue praying and standing with us. Pray specifically that the treatments have their full healing effect and continue to "confound" the tumors and kill cancer cells. Pray also that the negative side effects be held in check.
