Day 25/26 The last two days of radiation are over! I have been released to “rest” for two weeks, then begin targeted treatment. Yesterday, when I was “under the gun” I saw veins shooting out all over behind my eyes.....remember when we used pass by those little science project glass balls that were charged with electricity...touch it andsparks were formed in a shape around your hand on the inside of the glass? Same thing, except it was in my head. In other words I now have “X-Ray Eyes”. That right, Ms. MarshalI.......you wrote the song...but I’m livin’ it. I wish I could show you a file picture I saw on my chart today. They have these photos of me laying on the table with this goofy grin under a plastic shield...It was right out of sci-fi. I asked the doc to e-mail it. I didn’t feel his commitment on this one. This is my best day of radiation. I have no symptoms...the weird truth is I never really did...Go figure! My hair is definitely going.......Today seems to be the start of hair flying through the air. It is on the way out. The Doc’s keep telling me this will be a real mental challenge, but I really am into discovery here. It grows back in about three weeks. I am noticing everyone is asking me the same question....”Hey, Sis, exactly what color will it probably be. We have never seen your real hair color? “ I don’t really know myself.......Several of you have e-mailed me about wigs (Love Ya)’...here’s what I will probably do..... I think I will start with baseball caps (Thanks Mark), and I’ll get some really cool earrings. Side Note: J says all the hair flying through the air is making him itch. The humor in this situation can not be denied! Diet hint: Vidalia Onions sautéed in olive oil are FAB! No kidding ...Try it. <back
